Thankful

This was my most recent project. It is for a gift for my dear friend who was sooooooo generous to lend me all of her maternity clothes. These weren't just any maternity clothes though. Almost everything was REALLY cute! In those clothes included a pair of designer maternity jeans worth $200.00! You know I would NEVER buy something like that. I live in these things and they fit like a glove. I am soooooo thankful to her! These are the only pair of pants that I actually feel "cute" in-if that is even possible right now! Anyway.... I have made these bandana pants before and loved them. For some reason I haven't made them in a couple of years. I know the ball fringe at the bottom of the leg isn't practical but it is way to cute to matter! The first couple of times I have sewed ribbon on tee-shirts turned out to be complete nightmares. It seems easy enough I know but for some reason it is really tricky. I usually use a product called steam a seam on all of my appliques which basically puts a tacky backing on appliques so the applique stays in place while you sew. You apply it by the heat of an iron. I tried it on a ribbon once and I ruined the whole thing. Little did I know that ribbons melt! Well I finally got smart and sprayed on a spray adhesive and your ribbon shirts will turn out beautifully! I have no idea why it took me years to figure this out! Sewing is such a trial and error thing. I don't really have anyone to ask questions to so I always just have to learn the hard way. Anyway, I have one more thing for her that I am not done with yet. Hopefully she won't read my blog till after she gets her outfits!
Till Next Time,
Jules

TRENDZ

Trendz is a new store in Overland Park that is selling some of my items via Addie Rose Boutique. When I walked in for the first time I was pleasantly surprised to see my outfit on a little tiny mannequin! I was so excited that I had to take photos! I also posted a few photos of my onesies on display too. Trendz boutique is a new boutique w/ a cool concept. It is one store w/ 20+ boutiques inside of it. 20+ boutiques around kansas city rent booths inside of this store so when you go shopping there you are really shopping at 20 stores or more in one location. I think it is a really neat concept. There are tons of little boutiques that I have read about and wanted to go to but they were just to far away and inconvenient to get to. Now I just have to go to a one stop shop. They sell anything from jewelry to kids clothes to women's apparel to home accessories. I really hope this will help get my name out a little bit and promote Just Jules Boutique Creations! I know they are having a grand opening on May 7th. There will be wine, food and of course shopping. I hope I can make it! To learn more about Trendz go to www.trendzmarket.com.
Till next time....Jules

The best baby pants ever!

I am in love w/ this outfit! Can't you just imagine a snuggly little baby in your arms wearing these cozy pants? I LOVE making these pants. They are so soft and comfy. A good friend of mine ordered this outfit to give as a gift. It feels like I have made millions of these little outfits and they are huge sellers. I need to make my little guy some in blue. I actually wear a pair of pj's like this in black. I wish I could live in them!
I added a picture of my growing belly. It is getting really big! I am almost 32 weeks pregnant. My Dr. says we can deliver up to a week early so that means I only have about 7 weeks to go! I can't wait to be able to walk w/o being winded, bend over and lay on my back. Not to complain but the end is really not fun! It will be here before I know it though. I need to start getting things in order!

Hooter Hider, Bosom Buddy, nursing cover or whatever you want to call it

My 6 year old took these pictures of me and I think he actually did pretty good! Okay how many of you have heard of the hooter hider or bosom buddy? They are little apron type things to wear while you are nursing a baby. I have seen these at various stores ranging from $25.00 to $36.00! What a rip. I am definately not a graceful breast feeder by any stretch of the imagination. I ALWAYS end up exposing my HUGE breast feeding boobs to somebody if I have to nurse in a public place which is very rare for that exact reason! I thought maybe-just maybe I would feel more comfortable doing this if I had one of these covers. I knew I would never pay $25.00+ for one so I decided to just make one! I just printed up a free tutorial online and whipped it up. This is such an easy project even for a beginner. It only took me about an hours time. The cool thing about this nursing cover is that it has boning in it at the neck that bows outward so that you can actually look down and see your baby while he/she is nursing. It has an adjustable neck strap that would be hard for the little one to pull off of you while he is nursing! It is wide enough to cover the sides of you body so you don't have to expose your post baby tummy to the world! Hopefully this will be as functional as I am thinking! I know I am having a boy and the material I picked isn't very masculine. Come on-w/ 3 boys I need something a little girly for me :).
I have LOTS of projects in the works and will be posting pictures soon! I am 31 weeks pregnant and am just now starting to sew things for my little guy. I have been making tons of stuff for other people and not myself for some reason. I think I finally am feeling the pressure to finish some projects for my baby!

HALO Foundation

Hello all! These are pictures of my most recent project. A friend of mine asked me if I would consider donating some of my baby/children's items to the HALO foundation, which she is a part of. I was more than happy to provide some items for the annual silent auction. HALO enhances living conditions and provides art therapy for orphans worldwide. It provides american youth with the opportunity to learn philanthropy and volunteerism by seeing the world through the eyes of the less fortunate. You can learn more about HALO by visiting the website at www.haloworldwide.org. The auction will take place in K.C. on May 1st. I tried to come up w/ a unisex look for the auction. I hope these items look unisex? Let's just hope that they sell!
Today I got to stay home and take care of a sick kid. Yuck! We really have been lucky this winter (sickness wise). I was really productive today as I cleaned all 5 bathrooms in my house, sewed a bunch of things that people are waiting for (pictures to be posted soon)! I actually had time to lay down today and fall asleep for 45 minutes! That was awesome. Hopefully my baby will feel better tomorrow. Let's hope he doesn't pass it to the rest of us.
Until next time....Jules
